The SSRD designs, pilots, models and evaluates innovative and appropriate community-oriented interventions and delivery schemes
Since its start, the Center, through the Social Science Research Division (SSRD), has pursued a search for effective tools, approaches and interventions to strengthen the national nutrition program.
It has undertaken studies of food formulations, food fortification, development and testing of delivery systems and indicators of nutritional status, determination of nutritional implications of key policy and economic issues, evaluation of existing nutrition programs, and measurement of effectiveness of communication materials developed and produced by the Center.
A good number of the products of these studies have become valuable elements of national policies and programs.
